ADORABLE DISPLACEMENT BY LILITH ARTIST DUO A CO-PRODUCTION WITH MOOMSTEATERN
Lilith Performance Studio, Bragegatan 15, Malmö
9 Nov, 2023 - 26 Nov, 2023
A soulful fight club, where exercises in being human take place.
A mental in-between-land free of logical sequences of events and evaluative judgments.
On November 9, a new total performance by the artist duo LILITH opens at the
Lilith Performance Studio. This time in collaboration with the outstanding and world-unique Moomsteatern in Malmö.
Glitter falls over a Colosseum that examines what the soul can do, what the body can do,
what the voice can do.From open mouths rises a chorus of trembling notes. Soundless laughter. Screams that fall silent. Violent crying.
The flow of events that flow in and out of each other triggers
images of ritual attempts to leave oneself: to be a sound, to be a movement, to be still.
To stand in front of others and fall apart. To stand in front of others and shine.
The actors from Moomsteatern and TeaterAkademin’s daily activities work exploratory all autumn in various workshop forms with actors from Lilith Performance Studio and will develop a new total performance based on the artist duo LILITH’s concept.
The method is part of Lilith Performance Studio’s three-year investigation, where actors
who have not previously worked with performance are invited to, in close collaboration
with the studio’s artistic director, if possible, find untested ways to how a live piece can be developed.

Moomsteatern is the only theater in Sweden that hires actors with intellectual functional variations and works professionally with a functionally integrated ensemble. They have made themselves known throughout Europe for their bold and high-quality performing arts. They collaborate with the TeaterAkademin’s daily activities so that more actors with intellectual functional variations will have the chance to occupy the professional arena in the performing arts. In collaboration with Lilith Performance Studio, actors who are brand new are mixed with those who have many years of professional experience in an art form that neither has worked with before.
LILITH is the artist duo Elin Lundgren (1973) and Petter Pettersson (1972).
In performance that touches on community, group belonging and exclusion, LILITH builds her works as living images with an absurd humor and a stripped-down documentary narrative. Their keynote is universal human issues such as love, loss and grief, driven by the desire to move into the viewer’s consciousness as a noise or a disturbance with a hope of understanding what it is to be human.
